Junior Almoners Club

Welcome to the page dedicated to members of JAC’s! On here you can find puzzles, pictures of JAC’s events, news of upcoming events, competition answers and winners and details of how to join.

Brother Oswald has been a resident of the Almonry for hundreds of years: he now takes pride of place as the JAC’s logo and guide through the Almonry and Evesham history.

Jac's Events

It's Oh So Quiet

Yes, this is the time of year the Almonry has to go into a bit of hibernation: although we're still open to visit, we don't hold any special events, using this quiet time of year to do important work like cleaning the cases and artefacts whilst visitor numbers are low.

But it won't be long before we're thinking ahead to February half term and the next event the JAC's can take part in for free, so keep visiting this page. Your next newsletter is due early 2012!

Jac's Competition

Can you find it!

Where in the Almonry can this be found?

This piece of intricate carving was once a large lump of stone that the masons chiselled away at until the design was complete: they had to be very careful not to make a mistake as one wrong slip meant throwing it away and starting all over again!

The marriage this celebrates had very important consequences for the Almonry - we'll reveal more in the next issue of the JAC's newsletter but if you can't wait till then, visit us to find out why.

Want to Join JAC’s?

It’s very simple, get a parent to send us an email or letter marked “JAC’s” and we’ll send them the forms to read through, fill in and send back to us. When it’s all been completed, we’ll send you your membership pack and welcome letter from Brother Oswald. Easy!

It costs £10 for a year’s membership, this entitles you to: a membership pack, a newsletter 4 times a year, 2 events a year (a small extra charge may be levied to cover costs) and free entry for the member and one accompanying adult.
