Documentation and Collections Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Almonry Museum for The National Lottery Heritage Fund ‘Re-Imagining the Almonry’ Development Phase as the Project Documentation and Collections Assistant.

We are seeking a Documentation and Collections Assistant to assist with the review and improvement of the museum’s collections records and documentation systems. The role will focus on auditing the existing MODES Complete catalogue, addressing documentation backlogs, updating and consolidating records across a range of formats, and ensuring collections are catalogued to minimum Inventory Standards. The prioritising of collections and completing catalogue data will help inform the interpretation and re-displays planned at The Almonry Museum. Responsibilities include object verification and storage checks, in-house photography and digitisation, labelling, marking and packing collections where required, and supporting the development of improved collections management processes. The postholder will also explore ways to increase public access to digital collections and work closely with the Project Curator and Co-Curation Lead Officer to establish benchmarks and identify future improvements for the Round 2 Heritage Fund Delivery Phase application. Community Co-Curation Lead Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Almonry Museum for the National Lottery Heritage Fund ‘Re-Imagining the Almonry’ Development Phase as the Community Co-Curation Lead Officer.

As an experienced engagement professional, you will bring your skills and knowledge to lead on the Co-curation and engagement element of the project.  You will work closely with the Almonry Manager, the Almonry team and the wider project team, consultants, partners, stakeholders and funders to develop the Re-Imagining the Almonry project with community at its heart.

We are seeking an experienced community-focused professional to lead on engagement and co-curation activity, playing a central role in developing the Activity Plan and Action Plan for a Round 2 Heritage Fund Delivery Phase application. The postholder will build strong relationships with local groups, organisations and underrepresented communities, delivering inclusive outreach, events and co-curation initiatives that broaden participation and shape the future direction of the project delivery. The role will champion new approaches to embedding community engagement within museum practice, advise colleagues on co-curation principles, mentor staff to develop participation skills, and work collaboratively with consultants and project partners on evaluation and delivery planning. Responsibilities also include recruiting and managing volunteers and identifying and helping with securing additional funding opportunities to support project development and long-term impact. Project Curator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Almonry Museum for The National Lottery Heritage Fund ‘Re-Imagining the Almonry’ Development Phase as the Project Curator.

As an experienced Curator, you will bring your extensive experience to the project to lead on the care and management of the Almonry collection. You will work closely with the Almonry Manager, the Almonry team and the wider project team, consultants, partners, stakeholders and funders to develop the Re-Imagining the Almonry project to a Round 2 application.

We are seeking an experienced Curator to lead the management and care of our collection including collection development and documentation to inform and help plan the re-displays. The Curator will also lead on collections research, review, and rationalisation.

The role will oversee, including the supervising of staff, volunteers and work experience placements, while working collaboratively with the project team, consultants and partners to identify collections that support community co-curation, engagement and display.

Responsibilities include reviewing the Collection Development Policy, advising on the implementation of a Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), coordinating conservation audits and funding applications, appointing external conservators where required, and ensuring collections care standards are met throughout interpretation and exhibition design. The prioritising of collections to best support the new interpretation narratives at The Almonry Museum will be an important part of the job.  The postholder will also contribute to wider project planning, evaluation and activity development, recruit and manage volunteers, and help secure additional funding to support project delivery.
