Covid Update:

We are thrilled to announce that from Monday 19th July 2021, we have been able to fully re-open the Almonry Museum, Tourist Info. Centre and Gift Shop!

This means that from Monday 19th July, areas of the Museum that have been closed off to the public due to social distancing regulations have now re-opened for visitors to access. There is no longer a one-way system in place around the building, and we have no limitations on visitor numbers in the Museum or Gift Shop at any one time. Please see below for the latest information about what to expect when visiting us this Summer:

Guidelines for the Museum, TIC & Shop, in line with the advice given by the NHS & Government:

Please do not visit the Museum, TIC or Gift Shop if you have any Covid Symptoms, are living with anybody who has symptoms, if you are self-isolating, or have been asked to Self-Isolate by NHS Test & Trace. We cannot admit anyone who has suspected or confirmed Covid-19. For more information on Covid Symptoms:

Masks or Face Coverings are no longer compulsory indoors or outdoors. Wearing a Face mask or covering is, however, encouraged in crowded and enclosed settings, helping people to protect themselves and others. When worn correctly, this can reduce the risk of transmission, especially when coming into contact with people you don’t usually meet.

There is hand sanitizer available around the Museum and in the Reception areas for staff and visitor use. Avoid touching the exhibits as much as possible during your visit. Reducing contact with objects reduces the risk of transmitting Covid-19.

There is no longer a ‘One Way System’ around the Museum, signs to socially distance have been removed, and we no longer have to limit the number of people in the Museum and Shop at any one time. We ask that visitors remain mindful of other people and keep a comfortable distance from others, for everyone’s peace of mind.

We are keeping the NHS QR Code in place, so that visitors can still check in using the NHS COVID-19 App. if they wish to do so. We have a paper version for people who do not have the app and wish to check in. Your information will be kept under Data Protection Policy and destroyed after 21 days. This is no longer a requirement by law, though NHS and Government advice is to continue using the app. and for people to check in at public venues and attractions.

We may on occasion have to close the Museum early or have an earlier “last entry time” for Museum visitors. This is so that our staff can ensure enough time for thorough cleaning, especially during the busy holiday period or during Event Days.

Thank you all for your ongoing understanding and support during this time.
We are regularly reviewing and adapting the ways in which we work as the new guidance and advice is issued by the Government and NHS. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please speak to a member of staff at the Almonry, who will be happy to help or advise. Alternatively, email us at:
