Accessibility

Welcome to the Almonry Museum. We aim to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. If you have any question regarding accessibility please contact us by telephone on 01386 446944 or by email

The Entrance to the Almonry building is through a large, wooden door that opens with a latch and is on a level with the ground outside. You will find the Information desk immediately inside the entrance to the left.

All the rooms within the Almonry building have a step or steps in and out of them and  the floors are uneven throughout. To reach the Tourist Information leaflets section you will need to go down 3 steps, there are handrails on either side. The toilets are past the Tourist Information area on the left hand side. There are 2 cubicles, the first containing a urinal and a toilet, the second has a toilet and baby change table. This cubicle also has a folding handrail. Access to the museum is through a swing barrier to the right of the bottom of the steps. Due to the sensitive nature of the items on display, the room lighting can be subdued.

We do not currently have audio/ induction loop facilities in the Museum.

Carers are entitled to free entry and assistance dogs are welcome at the Almonry.

You can download our access statement which gives full details about access to the museum and gardens.
